Edwin Land 1909 - 1991 Founder Of Polaroid Corporation Inventor, born in Bridgeport, Connecticut in1909. While studying at Harvard University he became fascinated with the field of polarized light. After graduation he formed Polaroid Corporation, producing sunglasses with Polarized lenses. After working on military contracts during World War Two he went on to invent a photographic process and camera that could produce a finished photograph in 60 seconds. During his career at Polaroid he held over 150 patents, but was most widely known for the development of Instant Photography.
